Emilia, the cloth doll

Emília, in the plot created by writter "Monteiro Lobato", was made by char "Aunt Nastasia" for the girl "Narizinho". She was born mute and is cured by "Dr. Caramujo", who prescribed a "talking pill."

She is a cloth doll, stuffed with macaque. In many stories, she changes dress, is repaired or is stuffed again. Narizinho also makes and remakes his eyebrows (according to Reinações de Narizinho) and his eyes (that are of retrograde and for that reason they burst if Emília widens them too). She is able to walk and move freely, but is often treated by Narizinho as an ordinary doll and is "pocketed."

For being a doll, although it evolves and turns people, Emília can commit with impunity children's sins like tantrum, malcriation, selfishness, stubbornness and espertezas. Say what you think and when you scold, pretend you're not with her. He fears nothing, he prepares them all, and he is full of wills.
